Showcase By The Sea - Session 1, Aug. 2-4, 2019

What a way to kick off fall recruiting here in Southern California, as Triple Crown SoCal Fastpitch drew 58 teams and 27 college coaches to attend the 2019 Showcase By The Sea - Session 1.
 
The sold-out showcase (featuring teams from California, Arizona, Arkansas, and Nevada) was based in San Diego, in the heart of Mission Bay, and hosted teams in the 14u, 16u, and 18u age groups. The 2019 edition marked the 12th year for this event and one of its most successful by far. This year’s event brought a revamped layout with more field time, a player combine run by college coaches, and a record number of colleges in attendance.
 
The player combine brought a total of 104 athletes together and on the field receiving instruction from college coaches. Partnering with Fullerton College on this event brought a unique twist and something that many had not experienced at previous camps or combines. The combine offered hitting, fielding, baserunning, agility training and mental preparation.

With all college coaches on the field, athletes were able to gain feedback, knowledge, ask questions and more. Marian ‘Speedy’ Mendoza and Crystal Aguirre did phenomenal job organizing the layout of the combine and all college coaches did amazing work executing and educating the athletes.
